New entrance exam 2025 in Murcia<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>

The\u00a0university entrance exam<\/strong>\u00a0is a crucial moment for thousands of students. In the coming year 2025, this exam will be renewed with important changes.\u00a0<\/p>

In this article we explain\u00a0everything you need to know<\/strong>\u00a0about the university entrance exam in Murcia to date, what changes in 2025, key dates and how to prepare for this crucial exam.<\/p>

What is the new University Entrance Exam 2025?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

The new model of the university entrance exam 2025, known as PAU in the Region of Murcia, has been redesigned according to Decree 534\/2024. This update seeks to adjust the exam to the new Education Law (LOMLOE) for a common assessment throughout the country.<\/p>

Murcia is one of the first communities to implement this new homogeneous testing model, in line with the criteria established by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE).<\/p>

What is CRUE?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

CRUE is a non-profit association made up of 77 Spanish universities, which works as the main interlocutor between universities and the central government.<\/p>

Main changes to the University Entrance Examination 2025<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>

Examination format: What will it be like?<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>
  • Single examination per subject<\/strong>The option of choosing between two examination formats is eliminated. So all students will face a single format in each subject.<\/li>
  • Increase in objective questions<\/strong>The proportion of multiple-choice or short-answer questions will be increased, reducing the number of essay questions. This aims to assess knowledge in a more direct and precise manner.<\/li>
  • Compulsory subjects:\u00a0<\/strong>Students will continue to take examinations in four core subjects: Spanish Language and Literature, History of Spain or Philosophy, Foreign Language and the compulsory subject of the Baccalaureate modality studied.<\/li><\/ul>

    Duration of the test<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>

    Examinations shall be of 90 minutes' duration with a minimum break of 30 minutes between consecutive tests.<\/p>

    Evaluation criteria<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>
    • The correction and marking criteria are included in each of the exercises.<\/li>
    • The university entrance qualification will be calculated as a weighted average: 60% of the average mark of the Baccalaureate (excluding Religion) and 40% of the mark obtained in the entrance exam.<\/li><\/ul>

      When will the entrance exam be held in the Region of Murcia?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

      The PAU 2025 in Murcia will be held on 3, 4 and 5 June, following a common timetable agreed by CRUE in September 2024, which for the first time opts for a common timetable throughout the country for the test.<\/p>

      What else do we know?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>

      Within the agreement on the date on which the entrance examination will be held, proposals are also included regarding the structure of the tests, the competency-based questions, the contents of the test and the penalties for spelling and writing mistakes.<\/p>

      We know it's early days, but here are some tips to help you get through this course better:<\/p>

      • Organise your study environment: Avoid studying with distractions such as television or mobile phones. Set up a place dedicated only to your study.<\/li>
      • Establish timetables: Set specific times for studying and resting. Making study compatible with leisure or work activities is essential to maintain a good performance.<\/li>
      • Be confident in your ability: If you've got this far, it's because you're capable. Keep a positive attitude.<\/li>
      • Visualise your goal: If you don't yet know what degree to study, take the opportunity to research options, attend open days or explore university websites.<\/li><\/ul>
